It struck innocent lives with vengeance. Now, claimed one innocent life in Pune. However, Swine Flu is certainly one of those diseases where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
After the recent media report about the growing number of Swine Flu cases, it has become unbearable on our part to keep mum. Moreover, any mild symptoms of fever, throat infection, caugh and head reeling has now made us suspecious. Human life has become more vulnerable with the mildest attack of Flu or viral fever, made us to run to the Doctor with suspecion. Previously when there was any such mild symptoms of viral fever or flu, we used to take pills and available medicines from the medical store next door. But with the advent of this Swine Flu!
After I read one recent news paper article about the consumption of Paracetamol durgs without proper prescription from the Doctor, which affects the liver badly, the fear among many parents has increased manifold. In the absence of proper diagonistic facilities for detecting the H1N1 virus responsible for causing the swine flu, every body is running to the Govt. designated hospitals for check. There by increasing the risk of being more vulnerable.

Here are few tips for all of us to keep away from the pandemic.
1. Wash your hands frequently and use the antibacterial soaps to cleanse the hands. Wash them often and rinse with running water.
2. Get enough sleep, Try to get 8 hours of good sleep every night to keep our immune system in perfect flu-fighting shape.
3. Drink sufficient water, Drink atleast 8 to10 glasses of water every day to flush toxins from our body. Also guide the children to drink enough of waters and liquids. But be aware of contaminated water. Prefer Boiled water or water from best quality water purifiers. Avoid, drinking water out side or road side stall and hotels.
4. Boost your immune system by keeping your body strong, nourished, and ready to fight infection which is important in flu prevention. Stick with whole grains, colorful vegetables, and vitamin-rich fruits.
5. The most important aspect for prevention and spreading of the desease is to keep informed the government hospitals or such centres set up across India, there is also a need to make sure to keep up to date on the information and act in a calm manner.
6. Avoid alcohol, apart from being a mood depressant, alcohol is an immune suppressant that can actually decrease your resistance to viral infections like swine flu. try to stay away from alcoholic drinks to keep your immune system strong.
7. Be physically active, moderate exercise can support the immune system by increasing circulation and oxygenating the body. Fsuch as brisk walking for 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week will significantly keep up your immunity.
8. Keep away from sick people, flu virus spreads when particles dispersed into the air through a cough or sneeze. If you have to be around someone who is sick, try to stay a few feet away from them and especially, avoid physical contact.

10. Avoid crowded areas and unnecessary trips outside.
By exercising a little bit of restrain, perhaps we could be able to over come this pandemic before it boils in to an epidemic and spread to the whole part of the country. It is widely belived that being one of the most populous ciountry in this world, it will be impossible to keep the swine flu away if it boils into an epidemic.
